Melissa

Melissa started dancing at Encore at the age of 5, and was lucky enough to have Mrs. Bonnie as her first teacher. Not long after, she fell deeply in love with Encore. She experienced various dance styles and danced under nearly every Encore staff member during her time there. Melissa performed in every annual nutcracker and recital while she was a student there as well. She also had the opportunity to assist several Encore staff members through high school, sparking her love of teaching. After graduating, she went on to obtain a BS in chemistry and psychology at Azusa Pacific University, where she was also a member, and eventually a captain of the dance team. However, Melissa missed her second home, and returned in various different roles such as subbing, working the front desk, helping backstage at shows, performing in shows, and much more, all while completing her MA in clinical psychology. Melissa is currently finishing her doctorate in clinical psychology, specializing in forensic psychology at Azusa Pacific University. She is thrilled to be a part of Encore’s legacy and provide the same amazing experience she had when she was a student there.
